Ultimate Sweater Machine

sweater machine

I love knitting blankets for wedding and baby gifts but it they can be very time consuming  and I usually don’t finish them in time for the big day, so I’ve been looking into knitting machines. While researching I found out that most knitting machines are used because they no longer make them,  they are very expensive and it is advised not to buy them online, so you need to find them in a brick and mortar store.

All this information had me pretty depressed until I read about the Ultimate Sweater Machine. It seemed like an affordable and current (they still make them) way to learn how to use a knitting machine and see if the process what right for me. And I had planned to ask for one for my birthday this July, but I was in Michael’s on Monday and they had them on CLEARANCE!!! So I picked one up and can’t wait to put it together, but first I have to watch the instructional DVD, which may take me a few tries and lots of coffee to get through. Check out the video above if you don’t believe me.

With a machine like this not only will I be able to make wedding aft

So cool! I’ve never heard of a knitting machine, but I can’t wait to see what you make with it first! Unrelated – are you signed up for ‘pick your plum’ emails? It’s a deal-a-day site for all things crafty but the supplies run out quickly. It’s like Amazon Lightning Deals meets Pinterest. I’ve yet to buy something, but it’s still fun to see what they have.

    Happy machine-knitting!

I’ll keep you updated on my adventures with the USM and advise if you should think about getting one. I’ve never heard of pick your plum, but I’ll check it out now. Thanks for the tip, Emily!

Hello! I found you via the Vol 1 shop. Love the cowl you designed! Always neat to find other EC crafty types! Looking forward to seeing what you create with that knitting machine. KInd of like a serger, seems overwhelming at first, but once you take it step by step, it is not so bad. Ann

Hi Ann, Thank you! I’m looking forward to using it and as you advised taking it step by step. What kind of machine do you use? Also, we have a knit night every other Tuesday in EC if you’d like to join. Check the facebook page for more info.
